Pilgrimage on foot

Do the last 100 kilometers of the journey to Csiksomlyó on foot whenever you want, either individually or in groups, or you can  join the already estabilished pilgrimage route organized by us!

As we prepare to join the Year of Youth announced in 2018, the place for initiative will be present on the last 100 kilometer of Mary’s Way. The Harghita County Council with the collaboration of the Mountain Rescue public service organizes interactive tours for youth groups on the pilgrimage route, where they can enjoy the life-giving experience of Mary's Way along with youthfulness and the love of nature. The four day pilgrimage on the route of Udvarhelyszék starts from Parajd and leads to Csiksomlyó. Pilgrims will follow the following route: Bucsin hill-Borzont-Gyergyóalfalu-Gyergyócsomafalva-Csíkkarcfalva.

The pilgrims, who succeed to finish this route, will obtain a Certificate. For more information, please see here.

The four day pilgrimage on the route of Udvarhelyszék leads to Csiksomlyó. Pilgrims will follow the following route: Atyha-Etéd-Farkaslaka-Oroszhegy-Zetelaka-Kápolnásfalu-Szentegyháza.

The pilgrims, who succeed to finish this route (95.5 km) will obtain a traditional diploma. For more information, please see here.

The five day long pilgrimage on foot goes along the route of Udvarhelyszék. The participants will depart from Parajd on 13 May and arrive to Csíksomlyó on 17 May.  On May 18, they will attend various programs in Csíkszereda and then on the 19th of April the pilgrimage on Csiksomlyó will take place.

The four-day pilgrimage starts from the Hermitage of St. John the Baptist and by following the route of Udvarhelyszék it will lead to Csiksomlyó. Pilgrims will have the opportunity to cross the following settlements:  Etéd-Farkaslaka-Oroszhegy-Szentegyháza.
